Ladies, Here is a training "program" week one. This is at the beginning of winter (october) training for the CRASH B's at the end of February. It's a little daunting, but it gives you some workouts you can do. You can do these same Pieces on the water.... if you have a cadence meter to figure out stroke rating.
YOu can also go to the Concept2 website and read about training and "Getting Started". See link below:

Sign up for the personal log and keep track of your progress and compare yourself against others in your age group.

I actually was able to click right on the link no problem. Sometimes your browser may not like the wiki; I know sometimes people have trouble if they are using Safari, for example.
The schematic was very helpful!

An AWESOME example of rowing!!!!
Ladies, Here is a link to THE BOAT RACE 2007 - which is an annual event between Cambridge and Oxford Universities in England. It is sometimes a little "tricky" to get to play, but well worth it. Take the opportunity to watch their form closely and then think about how it "feels" and making your stroke look more like their's.
Hope you can get it to play! It takes a couple minutes to set up and there's some "ads" to start out with - but THEN GREAT ROWING!

Hey Teamies -- did anyone else notice this article in today's New York Times (Thursday, May 22)?:

(Sorry, I think it requires a login, but it's too long to just post. You can bypass compulsory logins by getting a shared password from www.bugmenot.com)
Oddly, it's in the Fashion and Style section (I guess we're getting fashionable and stylish). --Lynn
Our regular rowing times are now Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 pm and Sundays at 9 am. Our goal is to build from rowing fours to filling an eight!
Links to a spreadsheet that will keep track of who rowed, coxed, and coached on each day we go out in a sweeps boat this season.
Dear Rowers: Please use this shared calendar to sign up for rowing days and post other relevant info. To see the entire roster for a particular day, just hover over it. To edit, click on the day you want to work with and type in new text using the small window at the top of the box. To make a change to text already in the box, hover over the line you want to edit to make the "Edit" and "Trash Can" icons materialize.
